The key to earning money taking surveys is research. Before you register, make sure you always read the FAQ's. Try googling the name of the site into your browser and add the word "scam" after it. If the site is a scam, lots of people would have complained about it. Don't be too particular though, many people have bad luck with these sites and break the rules without even knowing it. This sometimes results in accounts being shut down and many people complain about that too. If you can tell the difference, you're on the right track.
The next thing to know is that the best legit survey sites are usually FREE. This means you can sign up with a valid email address and start receiving surveys straight away without paying a cent. Any site that requests money for you to sign up is a SCAM! Marketing companies are continually updating their research and they need YOU to help them determine what consumers really want. For this reason they do not charge you to receive surveys as more people will sign up if it is free. They wont offer you the world either. They may reward you with a cheque or points that you can accumulate and exchange for cash, or even enter you in prize draws. Lets get one thing straight - I am sick of hearing scam sites saying you will earn thousands per week. It is simply impossible unless you do nothing but fill out surveys 24/7. You will, however, earn some much needed extra pocket money. You may wish to fill out just enough surveys to pay off a car loan every month, or for extra shopping money. Please don't be fooled by sites that stare you will make hundreds in your first day etc. It just gets your hopes up.
If you do want to make a nice amount, however, it pays to sign up to multiple companies. Around 20 usually generates a good stream of income. Be sure to sign up to those in your area as well.
I know it takes such a long time to do this, especially if you're new at this. There is a program called RoboForm that helps fill out these forms. You can download it from www.download.com
It does pay to persevere with this part of the sign up process. Try not to tick the boxes that say 'sign up for special offers' and things along that line as this just gives the company a reason to spam your inbox.
If you are considering signing up to as many as 20 survey sites or if you are new at this, I highly recommend you get a new email address. Hotmail and Yahoo offer them free and it doesn't take long to sign up. This will stop you getting too many spam emails in your general email inbox.
One last thing. Make sure you check you're email regularly for new surveys. If you are not checking your emails at least every day you will not succeed with the surveys.
